Knitting for Olive — Gentle Motion for a Gentle Brand

Knitting for Olive is a Danish knitwear brand known for its soft color palettes, sustainable materials, and slow-living philosophy.
At InBold Agency, I was part of the creative team crafting motion and social visuals that reflect that calm, tactile world and transforming brand warmth into motion.

Motion Case Study

This motion video tells the story of Knitting for Olive. The yarn is the main character. It moves through each scene and “speaks” for the brand.

The yarn curves, loops, and sometimes makes a knot to show challenges, then opens to show progress. The style is soft and simple, with calm movement and clear type. Few words are needed and the motion says it all. The idea is “Knitting for You,” connecting knitters around the world.

Sensory Stories: A Multi-Platform Visual Language

I created a series of short videos for Knitting for Olive using real footage, aiming to capture the true feeling of their yarn.

My visual approach was simple, focusing on the yarn's soft texture, beautiful colors, and graceful movements. However, music plays a key role in bringing these videos to life. I carefully chose calm and gentle music to set the mood, turning each video into a quiet and emotional moment.

The blend of authentic visuals and thoughtful music is how I let viewers feel the quality and soul of the brand without words. To make sure the videos looked great everywhere, I produced them in multiple formats: 1:1 (square), 9:16 (vertical), and 16:9 (widescreen).

When I started on the visuals for Knitting for Olive, I wasn't thinking about "designing." I was thinking about "storytelling." The story of softness, of hands, and of the warm feeling you get from a handmade gift. My goal was to make you look at a picture and actually feel those things.

Colors of summer, rolling into view. We wanted the palette to introduce itself: warm, vibrant, and full of quiet energy.

A single strand drifts through soft light, quietly tracing the journey from yarn to finished fabric.

A simple, close-up look at the finished fabric. My goal here was to let the texture speak for itself: the feeling of a story fully told.

A single strand slides gently across the table, calm and steady. Showing the simple joy found in every piece of yarn.

Graphic Design

In the middle of the city's noise, we wanted to create a quiet moment. A space with just you and the softness of the yarn. This design is as minimal as possible, so the product itself becomes the main character.

Knitting for Olive isn't just selling yarn; it's building a community. We brought hands together, all different, to share colors. This photo is about connection, about the shared joy of creating together.

Scrolling through social media is a fast habit. How do you make someone pause? We created a clean, consistent visual system with room to breathe. Each post doesn't try to "sell"; it gently invites you to explore.

With this banner, the challenge wasn't just about color; it was about language. To truly connect with customers in markets like Germany and the Nordics, where English isn't always the first choice, we decided to speak their language.

AI in Action

In creative work, I believe technology isn't here to replace us, but to help us do our jobs better. For this project, AI became a quiet but incredibly effective teammate.

A small story is about the voice-over in the case study video. The voice you hear belongs to Martin, our Creative Director. When we needed to tweak a few lines at the last minute, instead of bothering a boss who was already swamped with his own schedule, I used AI to clone his exact voice. As a result, we saved a ton of time while keeping the full spirit and direction from Martin in the final product.

Beyond that, AI was a powerful assistant during the research phase, helping me dig deeper, find, and synthesize inspiration from all over the world quickly. It allowed me to spend more time on what matters most: thinking and creating.

And this is Martin (the one giving me "bunny ears" in the photo). He's an amazing boss who always encourages the team to find smart solutions and is never afraid to try new things.
